  • Big Bear - 9/6/03

Ok guys, rick just got 35s and we're dyin to try them out. We'd like to do something nearby and we're thinking big bear, arrowhead, silverwood, cleghorn: or any combination of those. The desert is still to hot to be out and about! Anyone interested?

    Trail Run UPDATE:
Due to the fire in Running Springs, we'll be deciding tomorrow morning which trails we'll be running.

The Dirt Devils will be running up to Big Bear tommorrow. We are planning to run Dishpan, but since the fire started this evening below Running Springs, we may go run a new trail over towards the Baldwin Lake side of the hill. You guys are more than welcome to tag along

We are meeting at the bottom of the hill off of the 215 and Orange show road, that way we can adjust our route depending on the fire.......

E-mail tonight up until about midnight for more info, quinn@dirtdevils.org

Sorry for the late post. I was surfing around and decided to register here!

here's the forest service "conditions" page (which doesn't seem to be too accurate)
            http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/sanbernardin...ons/index.html

and here's the place to check if any roads are closed ...

            http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/roadinfo/

            as of right now:
            SR 18
            [SAN BERNARDINO & RIVERSIDE CO.'S]
IS CLOSED FROM 5.2 MI EAST OF THE JCT OF SR 138 TO BIG BEAR DAM
(SAN BERNARDINO CO) - DUE TO A FIRE - A DETOUR IS AVAILABLE

hopefully we won't be up too late cutting rick's fenders to wake up in the morning!! we'll find ya quinn.

for any of you last-minute planners, we're going to be starting at gold mountain right off of baldwin lake and checking out the new rocks that have been added to the trail. then we're off to john bull. we'll be on gold mtn. until about noon and hooking up with the dirt devils there.

it's not to late to leave!
