  • JV Aftershock - what do u rate it?

So I have been talked into going to the TinBenders Jamboree and running Aftershock. This is not a final decision.

What do you feel the requirements for this trail is? Is it a lot worse than it looks? I'm going to go hike it in a couple weeks, always do your recon

If you have actually run it, what was your impressions?

As far as JV goes, this is the *easy* trail but its still JV.

Lets keep this discussion about rig requirements and not how crazy or unskilled I am. For in the end we all know I am bent and only I can make the call if I feel up to the challenge.

    do you have lockers?

    what size tires?

    auto or manual?

    what is your gearing?

do you mind being winched once or twice?

some of us will be "trail hands" on that jamboree. myself, and a few others from this board will be leading the aftershock run through. it is one of the shortest, and easiest runs out there.
i think they have the requirements set as 33" tires and one locker. i recommend 2 lockers though, and a winch would be handy.
if you choose thi9s run, you'll at least have a support group of people you know :yay:

          Front and Rear
33s should be 35s by then
          Manual
          4.56
Ill try anything once, twice if I like it.

That is one of the reason this run is so tempting. I know there will be a good group of people out there to lend a hand

unless your planning on doing something about that transfer case gearing, I'd stick with the 33s.

                  (4.56+2.73)/35=no fun.

It won't be graceful, but you can make the trail. :2:

Might not be much choice here. I need new tires and dont want to buy another sets of 33s. Maybe I should regear to 5.13 while Im at it.

I think I may run that one with you Nagal. Probably register tonight. Maybe we can even get out there and run it with some others before then.

Id love to do a pre-run if someone offers up to lead it. But time is short between now and then and my weekends are filling up fast

                          Yeah, JV, I know.
Tinbenders is a club or an event?

Have not heard of this one.

                          Thanks!

Yes, hike it (if thats what your into) and see whats up. I ran that trail at last years jamboree. I was told the trail because of all the rains and trail use that it turned much more difficult. At the end is called "Depreciation Point" guys were crunching fenders bashing in grills and so on. Body damage is VERY likley. I bent a drive shaft and got body damage. I did have a good time but check it out to see if you want to run this trail.
