ugh, does anyone (erik) have any links saved?
in a nutshell, a very quick and small nutshell ... one night a drunk driver rolled his vehicle just about into our camp. and he wasn't in idle mode, if you know what i mean. we had no cell signals and there was no such patrol or police anywhere to be found at the TDS event grounds, either.
We hope to have a booth set up for Law Enforsement this year. Our club is doing the best it can to contorl the negative behavoir. There appears to be more people present than those who have regestered for the event the last few years. But you are right it is the largest one day run anywhere. Hopefully the one registration one prize drawing ticket and well laid out trail is enough. Thankfully most clubs and individuall participants far out weigh the few negative people who show up. Here is the link to Safari info.

The problems aren't the run, it is the night time drunks racing through camp taht cause most of the problems, as well as the gas bombs in the fires.
I still wouldn't miss this for anything. It is the best run available.
This sounds like a great TRAIL, and the organizers seem to have a good INTENT...
But due to "doodyheads" I think I'd rather plan an MJR run on the trail some other time of the year. Is that wrong etiquette? (I'd almost bet on that being wrong spelling and/or grammar.) Irresponsible people are dangerous enough without throwing in 4x4's and tents. I might feel differently if I were in a motor home... or a tank.
