Starting at Bouquet at 10:30ish. You coming?

up to the top and then down to the Sierra Hwy side and back up the Steep climb and back to Bouquet.

From Glendale

Take the 5 north to the 14 freeway.


Take the 14 to Sandcanyon - about 7 miles or so.

Exit Sand canyon and turn left- follow till it ends at Sierra Highway.

Turn Right on Sierra Highway and go to the 1st stop light (Vasquez Canyon)

Turn left on Vasquez Canyon and follow till it ends (Bouquet Canyon)

Turn right on Bouquet Canyon and follow it up to the Lake (left side) at about 17 miles or so.

There is a big turn off on the right side and you will seel the trail going up the mountian.

No cell service on this road.

It's 905 right now- you have plenty of time.

Well it was me and Jumpjet101

We headed up the hill at about 11:00 after talking with one of the department of water and power guys for a bit.

By the time we got to the top Jumpjet101 noticed coolant dripping from the radiator.

We headed down the mountian and there was a hill climb he wanted to try.

After that the radiator was pouring fluid out. At the bottom he was going to go up Sierra Hwy home but decided to try the mountian again and go home that way.

At the top the engine had overheated again - but not showing just leaking fluid. We put some water in at the top and went downhill back to bouquet.
At the bottom the engine stalled and would not restart - after waiting a bit it started but showed no oil pressure.

Ended up being towed home and not sure of the condition yet. May need a new engine.

May need a new engine? Man, at the first sign of radiator trouble I would have tried to fix it or turned around not wheel the hill. Heat is probably an engines' worst enemy.
