snow is fun! bring chains this time i might be going up to gorman this weekend (if the 5 is open), but might be up for Big Bear too, especially on a 3 day weekend. be sure to take the 'back way' up to avoid some traffic.

Holcomb?! Are you crazy? I'm not sure my rig is up to Holcomb on a calm spring day, let alone after all this snow. But, what the hell. I'm up for anything. Besides, if we get stuck I know where we can find a Snow Cat....... Here's a photo of the Holcomb Creek trailhead taken on Dec 31st:

Bear Valley is in Central CA. This tread is talking about Big Bear, which is in Southern CA.

I think I may be up for this one. There is no way I am doing HC at all in this snow. The end of it was pretty bad last time I went up.
