Maybe it'll be 70 degrees by the 4th.
It was right at 70 in BB today with most of the snow already melted.

Art it looks like we're going to get dusty trails.

My regular camping buds will not be able to make that run. Can't camp alone. Anyone else planning on camping Friday- Sunday?

I just wanted to follow up on the trail ratings for those who haven't run these 4 trails before. They are all rated "most difficult" by the SB Forest Service.

The 1st trail - Gold Mt.; 2 miles. It's on the moderate side of M.D. with only about 2 difficult spots and 1 rocky climb optional route.(that we'll all take)

Little John Bull is basically a moderate trail in the direction we'll be going - BTW it's a short connector between GM & JB.

2nd trail - John Bull; This trail does carry the full rating of "most difficult". It's 2 1/2 miles long with "pleasent" obstacles the majority of the way.

3rd trail - Holcomb Creek; thanks to MJR this trail also lives up to it's "most difficult" rating. Length is 3 + miles with scattered obstacles mixed with moderate terrain.

4th trail - Dishpan Springs; 2 1/2 miles. In the down hill direction we're running it, it's mostly "moderate" with the waterfall area as the difficult obstacle.

Don't get me wrong - all these trails are difficult - trails 3&4 are not suitable for stockish vehicles, so be ready for some strong 4wheelin.

Most of the seasonal streams will be running with water making this a nice spring run - snow is not expected (sorry)

In order to finish the trails in a timely fashion we'll have to keep up a pretty good pace. Tow hooks and tow straps will be required for all vehicles.

I would like to leave the Discovery Center right at 9:00 am. A full tank of gas and lunch will be needed.

If anyone wants to comment on the trail ratings feel free. If all goes well I'm hoping to be airing up by 5:00 ish.

BTW, Holcomb Creek is 6 miles long.

Still deciding if I can go. I want to for sure, but the 3 hour drive before and after make for a long long day

I just scrolled through the thread... I can't seem to find the dates everyone is discussing for the run... I know it is probably just me but please let me know.

I'm not sure who will be camping, I think most are planning for a day run.
