Thanks for the report Russ. I'm curious, was the water tower labled as such? Several old ammunition manufacturers used similar structures called "shot towers" for making buckshot.

Thanks for the report Russ. I'm curious, was the water tower labled as such? Several old ammunition manufacturers used similar structures called "shot towers" for making buckshot.

There were no signs or markers near the tower labeling it as such. After we visited the site, I did a Google search for "Pilgrim Psychiatric Center Water Tower" and found dozens of results referring to the water tower at Pilgrim Psychiatric Center. I have not found any explanation of why the tower has such an ornate design.
