Here is another couple of the turn of the century mines in the Panamint Mts.
After checking out Clair Camp I headed up to a very seldom visited mine - and for obvious reasons - it was 2000+ feet above the canyon floor.
The first mine was quite a ways up the mountain perched at the 7000 ft level. A tram system was used to get the ore to the mill at the bottom. This mine looks to have have been untouched for decades. There were no foot prints in any of the tunnels, which numbered about 4 or 5. Each tunnel was at a different level.
There was quite a spectacular view of the Panamint area from the top - it was also pretty cold up there as well.
From there I went on up Pleasent canyon into Middle Park to see a couple of other sites.

I saw a herd of these guys on the way up the canyon. They got bored of me after a while
Clair Camp
Mine way up one of the mountains. This was an interesting set up - the old truck axle was turned by the tram cables, which in turn turned a pump that pumped water up the the mine tunnel - pretty clever.
Another set of mines. All 5 tunnels looked identical to each other inside.
