    More Pics!

I had a fantastic weekend with some of the best people on earth! Weather was really good (as in NOT 8 degrees like last year!).

Here are some of my Friday Gatekeeper Pics to add to the offerings so far:
    CHUCK:

    KURT:

    CURTIS:

We ran Doran and took the side trail to the top of the mountain:

We got back to camp early:

I talked several folks into going to Barber's Mill ruins right at sunset:

Friday was a lot of fun. After dinner, we did some local trails as a night run. The only photo that I got was a very out of focus pic of Kramer's Arch. Too bad, but it was a great day.

Hey everyone! We had a blast as usual. Rick and I had fun running Phillips Loop completely aired up and connected we enjoyed the fireside chat *egg* and the weather couldn't have been too much better for November! We had a chilly drive home but nothing to complain about. Great meeting everyone! I'm glad the jeep has made it out of the backyard!! Hehe. I'll be cyber Monday shopping for some light sabers?

      Thanks again for having us!

        Saturday

Saturday, we gathered up the full group and headed out to Tin Can Alley. We made our way across Hidden Valley on a creative route with some cool views. Thanks again Chuck for path-finding a way back to the road we needed!

We took another creative path over to Phillips Loop. From there we took the east side down to the entrance to Kramer's Arch. Some of the group went around to other entrance when we found a steep climb facing us.

Eventually, we all met at the Arch:

We crossed over to the west side of Phillips Loop and headed north up the Stairsteps. These were more gnarly than the last time I passed this way:

We dropped down into Odessa Canyon on a steep trail that joins Odessa near the road up to the Oregon Mine (I was told that this was the name of the mine, I haven't confirmed it, so please chime in if I have it wrong):

While there, Jeri Lyn joined our troop and we went north to find Sweetwater Spring:

On the way to Bismarck Mine, we got word that Rick and Sarah would be at camp soon, so we skipped the Mine and went down the Wall Street Canyon road. At the washout, there were at least five Jeeps trying to work their way down. Instead, we went in search of the way around to the other side that I have been hearing about.

Cody tackled a steep extra credit line in Kurt's Jeep. He drove like a Pro!:

The side trail that we took had a cool-looking green rock dry waterfall to climb:

We found a way to the other side and stopped at the old cabin:

Time and daylight was running out, so some of the folks decided to go back to meet Rick and Sarah while the rest of us decided to make a quick stop at the Silver Bow Mine before starting back:

After meeting everyone in camp, Chuck wanted to make a night run up the Gatekeeper. Several of us took the drive to see the spectacle. I think that he made it up faster than he did on Friday, but I didn't time either run. Once on top, we discussed it and he decided to try the downhill run on the Gatekeeper:

Kurt did a great job spotting and Chuck was amazing at the wheel. It was very exciting to watch.

All-in-all, it was a great weekend! We had a good turnout and I got to meet some folks that I had only known from posts before. If you missed it, you really missed something fun.

We really don't want you to miss out on the next one.

SOOoooo, If you don't show up next time......

Nice Chuck...it only took you 40" tires and a antisway bar to make it through the gate keeper! I wish I could have seen you make it.

Looks like you all had fun...will be joining your soon...baby seat in all

Thanks everyone for a superior weekend. It could have gone better. I have already finished part 1 of my videos and should have it up by morning.

Kurt, Thanks for the great spot job. Couldn't have done it without you.

Ryan, The sway bar was disconnected and their 39.5's. I think it was the hat.

Obi Wan of the gas. I'm still LMAO.

            Oh, and... "egg".

Great photos and pretty cool going down Gatekeeper at night. It looks like the coil overs really keep your Jeeps stable but I know they are an expensive mod. It looks like I missed a great trip. I needed a break after my PVD Isham Canyon "almost roll over". I am glad you all were safe and that Curtis got up Gatekeeper. You found so many cool sights that I have never seen at Calico.

                          Kevin,
As long as they keep letting me tag along there will always be an "easy/moderate" run. I have only been out there twice and both times have been with MJR. I believe you could spend a full week or two exploring all the different things out there, from mines, petrogliffs and the geologic formations. Nothing like getting back on the horse to get over a really bad day on it.

As always Chuck GREAT JOB. I guest it's time for the (OLD EX)throttle heavy drag racer to put a AW4 Trans in the old jeep and slow down.
