I have done Tac Hammer, Fissure, and a few other milder ones out there in my Toyota 4 Runner with 33's, rear locked bumpers sliders. The only thing holding me back from Claw and Sledge is the belly protection(skids). I did have one of my guys climb Chocolate Thunder in his IFS 4Runner on 33's, but he has a winch full belly skids and locked front and rear. He only broke one CV.

My point of mentioning this is that with the solid axle up front as long as you had skids you should be able to a lot out there on 33's with just some rock rash.

Those 2 where our first run there and yes we did those on 35's without to much trouble

I am running 35s now, but I only have a bit more than 3" of lift, and the factory skids with that transfer case skid sticking down pretty far! I do have 4:1 transfer case though, and a winch.

Think it would be a problem, think I would slow the group down to much? I don't want to hold back the group.

It all depends on how comfortable you are on big rocks and how you feel about a bend skid plate and body damage.

I don't really care about cosmetic damage or skidplate dents, so long as I can drive it home I'm relatively new to offroading, but I've been very comfortable with everything I've done so far. I think the most challenging so far was John Bull (I was on 31.5" tires at that time), I don't know how that stacks up to the milder trails you are referring to here.

you are going on the 29th of october? or the 5th of November?

Anything Hammers is JB times 2 or 3. Now here is a plan since it's quite a drive out there. Do a easy trail out there then head to Cougar Buttes with a few like minded individuals and have a blast. Cougar Buttes is a fun area and most of the stuff is not a whole lot more challenging than John Bull. Just hate to see you A; drive a long ways and be disappointed and B; get in way over your head and not enjoy your self.

That sounds pretty good to me, if it's several times more challenging than JB, that's probably more than I should probably attempt until I've got more experience.

I've never been to Cougar Buttes, I'll look into that Lorie, maybe we should get a group to go there sometime? You're better at organizing stuff than I am

Once you find the ohv area of Camp Rock road , it's not that hard to find some of the trails. Several are fairly well marked with signs, for more info pm mkjeepers on this forum, he knows Cougar Buttes better than the inside of his back pocket. Who knows you might be able to talk him into leading a run through there. If not, in the trails gps section there are gps coordinates for the various trails there. Then when you get bored drive another 30 miles or so to Boone rd and come visit us

This sounds fun but I'm doing Hump& bump and then hopefully Desert Splash. So with my luck and breaking lately I will catch you after that.
