  • Trail Report: Swansea Road to the Salt Tram

I had a call and invite from my friend Brian (ECV Jeep) to join a pre-run trip to the Salt Tram and Cerro Gordo for a upcoming Clampers event. So I called Mike (deepwater) to see if he would like to bring the big yellow Rubicon out to play for a couple of days. Mike and I met Brian and crew Friday am to check out this awesome historical trail.

These pictures are mainly of the Salt Tram. Cerro Gordo will be on another post.

There it is! The main tram station. This thing is huge.

Great Views. 7500' down to Death Valley and 5000' down to Owens Lake

      Mike,

Honestly the shelf road section coming into Cerro Gordo didn't bother me. The steep mile long downhill was kept my attention though. And by the way, Mike had downloaded your track and GPS info and it was very accurate including the start of the downhill. That picture will be on my next post Cerro Gordo.

Thanks again for inviting me along Mitch. This is one of the best adventures that I have had jeeping so far.
