well, we DID IT! brian [blktj], al [igofshn], and myself [nailer341] were invited on a trail run to the infamous "hammers". for those of you not familiar with the trails out at johnson valley california.. these trails are some of the most difficult in the country.
we were guided through for the most part by blaine, who has played in this area for quite some time. we did the sledge hammer trail, which is concidered middle of the road as far as the jv trails go. for me... this was by far the most difficult trail i have ever run! FANTASTIC
well the 3 of us "newbies" worked our way through this monster of a trail with ZERO body damage, and ZERO broken parts. i'm sure this is largely due to the expert spotting we received from the others in the group that had run this trail before. it seemed everyones jeeps were working well on this trail. i am very happy with the new springs i put on before this run. ythis was their maiden voyage. i think they were broken in with just this one trail
thanks to all that were there! jeff, joe, blaine, kat, sergey, scott, jason, brian, jeff 2, al, and whoever's name i am forgetting. [sorry, i am terrible at names]
there are pictures uploading as i type this, but they will be a while. 216 megs.
this was a great experience, and i cant wait to do it again.

Yes Erik, fantastic is pretty close, I don't think there are words to describe how perfect this weekend was. Great people, great trail, great weather, no breakage... what more could you ask for.:yay:

There's no way to thank Blaine, Kat, Sergey, Jeff x 2, Scott and the rest for what they did. Great company, flawless spotting, creative raffle and HOT SHOWERS just to name some of the high points. There is no substitute for genuinely good people.

here's a pic after a Friday afternoon trial run for the atlas...

I didn't take many more pics, Erik and Al will have a bunch.

WOW!!! I'm so sad I missed it - but it's such great news that everything went so great. Congrats to my boys who now have a newfound feeling of ... how'd that go brian?

Good job on the pics guys. I appreciate ya'll posting them. We truly need to do this more often. If you are up for it, plan on hitting it hard this fall starting about the end of August. I can't think of a better time to be had.

btw- who came up with conceiveably the most bizarre collection of smiley's on the 'net?
