As far as I'm concerned he's a good guy and his doing some good work. He was actually helping people get unstuck when we came accross him.

Unless you have been there within the last couple of days you would not know what I was talking about. I was initially refering to a log jam on the run that day that was caused by incorrect bolder movement. That's it. No big deal.

I just went up to the 2 gatekeepers the other day and they looked at that time normal. Maybe a club has since paved a new route through.

I was there this sat and the gatekeeper is definatley different since the last time i was there. To the right seems fairly easy. To the left seems to me you would need a buggy. Otherwise still do-able.

It's a section that is real difficult, where they stacked a bunch of loose rocks to get them off the trail.

Uh....if they stacked a bunch of loose rocks to get them "off the trail" - they're off the trail

They're not acctually off of the trail, but placed as an optional route if you so choose. They have always been there, they're just in a more defined place, leaving a easy route around them.

Pictures? I'm not getting a good picture in my mind?

Looking at Gatekeeper "ahead" of you, with 3N32 behind you, are you talking to the left or to the right?

The loose rocks in front of the spectators have been consolidated into the area where the yellow Jeep is, making an easy approach to the trail as well as an optional route for the more advanced.

I don't intend to be the moderator for the trail, the Way-we-goes would be the one's for official info as to what is done. There isn't anything illegal done, I think I just worded my comment to Curtis wrongly.

I am with the WayWeGos and was there on Friday and Saturday as changes were made on the trail including rock moves, tree clearance, brush clearance and bypass closures.

The new Gatekeeper Lines for John Bull Trail as of 05/06/2010, there are three lines including the required 31" line.

You have to look for them and the 35 and up line is going to make you work for it but can be done as was proven by a 74 CJ-5 that made it all look easy by having a good line and a good spotter.

There is still mud and some snow under rocks so they are moving and the mud makes it hard in some spots to get traction but it is all fun! Rocks moved as the day went on so there is no guarantee that this still looks like this.

This is still a Black Diamond trail and it can and will get you if you are not careful as one YJ found out when he broke a drivers side lower ball joint and U-joint (not where changes were made) and Critter had a boulder jump under his oil pan and smash it as seen below.

YJ had his front lockers on coming down the John Bull Gatekeeper and broke his from ball joint and u-joint.
