Wow! What a great trip. We ran 82 miles in two days. We should have planned it for three days because we ended cutting out part of the trip.

Great run and great people, thanks for hosting Roger. For me it was all about the peace/quiet and serenity of being out in wide open country. A relaxing change from the day to day stuff.

The mine that you refer to as the Fry mountain mine is the Elsie mine. It dates back to the 1880's. Most mining was done from 1900-1940. It has a sister shaft south and over the hill from the main shaft that we walk into. It had an active claim on it by the same person from 1944 to 2001 but I don't think he did any mining out of it after the mid/late 40's possibly early 50's.
