      Roger,

Sounds like you set up a nice trip. I've talked to a few from your run this afternoon and they all loved it. Good job. After your nap, post some pictures!

Great run and great people, thanks for hosting Roger. For me it was all about the peace/quiet and serenity of being out in wide open country. A relaxing change from the day to day stuff.

              Awesome weekend!

This was a great tour of the area.

Roger, you are a great guide!

I really enjoyed reconnecting with those that I'd met before as well as making new aquaintances.

I'll post pics as soon as I get a chance.

              It definitely rocked!

Hi Lesa, we have not yet met (I never seem to be available on the days your buddy Mitch heads out on a run!), but if that new avatar is what I think it is, I have to say, that is one sexy Jeep! Congrats!

Just so you all know - Josh had his windshield down wearing very dark goggles and he was following two beautiful ladies. Now you know the rest of the story

The mine that you refer to as the Fry mountain mine is the Elsie mine. It dates back to the 1880's. Most mining was done from 1900-1940. It has a sister shaft south and over the hill from the main shaft that we walk into. It had an active claim on it by the same person from 1944 to 2001 but I don't think he did any mining out of it after the mid/late 40's possibly early 50's.

Above it on the same hillside is the Vulture mine.
