I've seen stock Jeeps make it thru without much trouble when it's dry.

Yes. I take stock Land Rovers through the Gulch every year. I am assuming no locker either. You can accomplish a lot without a locker, as long as you know how. You should not have any major issues. There is only two obstacles that are a challenge. One is near the beginning, as you snake your way around a tight right hand turn and the rocks are positioned "just so". If you are low to the ground, there is a chance of suffering a rocker knocker, but most make it through just fine.

              Photos:

The second challenging spot is a small slab ledge that is about 18" high that you drive up on. It's pretty easy to do, I've never seen anyone have any difficulties mounting the ledge. The challenge is that the slab is on an angle, and if you spin your wheels getting up the ledge, you could corkscrew down into the side of the canyon, another rocker knocker. So, don't spin your tires as you climb the ledge, and you should be fine. This guy was not so fortunate:

That spot that ate his window almost got my rear corner last time I went thru . . . I maybe cleared it by an inch or so.

I don't know what condition the area is in right now because of all the rain. I have never run Nightmare but heard there is a water crossing that may be pretty full. Randsburg road washed out and was closed so if you planned on leaving Last Chance through the south you might not be able too. Don't know if they fixed it yet.

I wish I could make it but already have plans. I live so close but the scheduling never works out.

The water crossing has been dry for the past 18 months or so. I was just there last weekend and there was a tiny stream of water all the way through the canyon...except at the old water crossing, which was still dry :-)

Last Chance had considerably more water in it on Sunday, but that has probably all drained out by now

Apparently the birds need a couple weeks a month to do their thing.

You really gotta plan for this run due to its retarded scheduling. Its due to Ravens nesting.....yep, common black Ravens.
