Thus keeping Lockwood and Miller Jeep Trail Closed. The Forrest Service is really wanting this to be open for all to enjoy!

Because Point Mugu 4x4 Club is the main sponsor of the trail....The Forrest Service only wants us on the trail for the work party. (politics ad usual) I will keep you all informed as soon as I hear anything.
Thanks Brett . . . please keep us informed. Any idea how much longer the logging is going to take . . . any hope to run this trail before it's usual closure schedule due to snow. Is there a set date that the FS usually opens up the trail or does it simply depend on the snow pack? If there's anything we can do to assist in getting it open sooner, say the word.

Trail never really closes because of snow it is just a lot more aggressive to run and there is limited resources to help if you run aground, or crash.

Brett, you really need to talk to Brian the club President.I did this mourning and he set it straight. He said it was open invitation but we need to keep it to a limit to people who want to be involved So get your story straight.
            and quit the politics.

So for those that want to be involved, what do we need to do? Is there a form I need to submit, do I need to show up early for vehicle inspection to make sure my Jeep is trail worthy, etc?

                Rick,

You need to talk to Bill Salka. He just talked to the Ranger and she said only Point Mugu 4x4 Club members!

I am not trying to make this a pissing match. Bill is not part of My Jeep Rocks and he wants me to relay the messages.

:dunno: I don't get it. Does Point Mugu 4x4 Club have so many members volunteering that there is no value to having additional support? Are the Rangers limiting the size of the group to the point that there's not even enough room even for all of the volunteers from Point Mugu 4x4? Is there any way to have some sort of "honorary trail maintainence member" for those that would like to pitch in to help keep the trail open without being part of the "club"? You've got volunteers that are ready to pitch in, we'll sign the waiver, submit our Jeeps for inspection, and submit our wheelin' resumes if needed . . . so what's the real issue here?

I think it has more to do with people being registered AAT members than anything else.

Do you have to be part of the "club" to get registered as an AAT member or can an average schmo do it on their own?

Ask Sarah or Kurt, they are very involved in this or contact the point Mogu club, since they are responsible for work on the Miller trail they would be the best route to go

I tried to track down some info for Point Mugu, but Google routes you to a site which routes you to a new site that doesn't work . . . it's been that way for a while now.
