      Crash,

I wish that I checked this out 2 years ago when I first saw it. The area is trashed bad! It still amazes me to see the destruction that people do for no reason at all. My father would have knocked me out if he knew that I randomly tore something up just because it was there. I forgot that this is in your backyard. We need to hook up for some exploring there.

Well I guess I wasn't paying attention. I normally have a good eye for that kind of thing. I think I'll be going out there on Sunday with Dave (flatpoint) and will look for it. I'll talk to you tomorrow at the M & G.

Hey anyone want to meet up for a jeep run on Feb 28th.
The above seems like a good day trip.
I am new to Jeepin and need some more experiance.
My son nammed our O8 Rubicn Unlimited Red Monster Truck and it is his 3rd B-Day the 28th. I told him we would go wheeling! He Loves it!

                Any suggestions!

                George

I would love to do that, but I had to be at Chuck E Chesse Yesterday. I could not get out of it. Even my kid wanted to skip Chuck's and go get dirty! I wish I could of made it.

Sorry! Next time! Thank you GP4 for the invite.

I am still planning on a day trip next Sat.

I have some info on that place. The guy that lived there was a minor(duh) and he lived there on his mining claim.

He was a CB radio guy and would talk every night to his friend Louigi that lived on top of the Ord mountain right above Central rd. There is a house back in there that you cant see from the road.

                      Anyway.

The minor's CB handle was "Old man on the mountain".

He died about 7-8 yrs ago and when he died his mining claim went back to the BLM.

He would go to town about once a month to buy food and I guess to turn in the gold that he found.

About 15 yrs ago he got into a shootout with someone else up near his cabin. Somebody put a bullet hole through the engine in his pickup. He came by the shop I was working at trying to find a replacement engine.

Louigi died about 6 yrs ago. His place is still above Central rd and there are always tire tracks on the road that leads to his place. There is a locked gate and somebody has a key or is living up there now.

                        Chris,

Thanks for the great info. Thats the kind of stories that you don't hear enough of. I'd love to find more info on the 30+ mines and mining areas that I've been to locally.
