  • Trail Run: Historic Mojave Trail Run

TJClay, NWoods, & I have been in contact and we've selected the Weekend of March 13 - 15 for this run.

It's been placed on the calendar. Post up if you want to join us! here's the link: http://www.myjeeprocks.com/forums/ca...=2009-3-13&c=1

Once we have a roster of those coming, we'll be having a "pre-trip" planning meeting.

Clay & I are getting rooms at the AVI Hotel & Casino Thursday night. I believe they have a campground also. It's located just a few miles from the trail head.

If you are planning to come, I recommend you buy and study this book:

        Roster of Those Going

It looks like we have a good group going! I'm looking forward to this trip.

Here's the list of those who have signed up:
        blazer4949 - Steve
        Jeri Lyn + Kids
nwoods - Nathan. }May or may not have the family (wife + two kids), + a friend
        rat patrol - Kurt
Roger - + My wife, a friend, and possibly one of my sons and his family
TJ Clay + brother in law and his 2 sons

        Maybe:
        dirtman13 - Chuck + 1 guest

In our early discussions, TJ Clay indicated a pre-trip meeting might be a good idea. We are all spread out over Southern California so we'll have to work a meeting location out.

If you will all PM me with your email addresses and phone numbers we can start planning the trip without clogging up the MJR forum.

Have you all bought the book yet???

Thats a great trip. Went two years ago, not hard, however very scenic with lots of history. Bring extra gas, I almost ran out. Dont forget to pick up a rock to place on the rock pile. The Lava tube is hard to find.

I hope that is the correct GPS coordinates.

Its easy to get lost, and off the trail, a GPS is a must.

              It's 4:49 PM 01-18-09 - Need to cut off the sign-ups

We won't be able to add anymore to the list. There's a limit how many can go in a group without obtaining a permit from the NPS.

For various reasons there will always be those that drop out. If you have to cancel, please let us know as soon as you can in case there are others hoping to go.

Also, please change your confirmation regarding guests. Guests should = Vehicles, not passengers in your rig.

              Thanks!

We went last year, it was a blast
Our group was over 30 rigs, the permits were not hard to get. I would suggest stopping off at the petroglif as it is amazing to see the amount of them there.
This is a very nice trip and one you will remember for years.

Chuck, you need to post the picture you did of us as a copy to the cover of the book. That was way cool...

I think with a larger group and a Jeep photoshopped in the background we could get a little more accurate.
