Hello, jeepers. New member, some time lurker.
Just a heads up about any of you thinking of making a run up to the SB mountain trails. You will need chains!!! We've had people getting stuck all over the place. Lots of ice under the snow, and lots more at night. And you are required to use chains for the BB area, 4wd or not. Even here in the Crestline area, vehicles with chains on have been getting stuck due to all the ice. It's fun to play in the snow, but not fun or enjoyable sliding off the mountain. Got stuck once in snow on Gold Mtn, and it wasn't fun. Just my penny's worth.
Wish you all a fun and safe weekend.

Me and flatout went up tp lytle creek yesturday and I tried an off shoot off the road and got stuck. It took a while with digging tires out and fred pulling on me with a tow strap too get out.(NO TRACTION AT ALL) This was only ~18"-24"'s of snow also. From what i understand big bear is alot deeper too.

Got back last night, lots of snow. We went up 330 and had no problems in 4x4 without chains. The kids had a blast sledding on the north shore near the woodland trail. Didn't do any real wheelin since I was by myself, but did play a little on some side roads. Ready for a snow run next Sat, depending on how much falls and/or melts this week maybe Cleghorn or Pilot Rock?

Cleghorn was fun yesterday, I don't think there will be a lot of snow left next weekend. You can always tru to run up to Dishpan from the pinacles

Checked out your pics, looked like it was. If you want to set something up, I'm down.
