No open rigs. As I said before, this isn't going to be the "we're gonna make it, no matter what" run. There's plenty of snow in the rest of the SBNF for that.

As I've said before - if I feel the need to chain up, or start seeing rigs sliding towards the drop off - we turn around. There will be plenty of opportunities to run this trail in the spring/summer if we can't do it in the snow safely.
i went to run john bull last weekend im locked front and rear but still couldnt get much traction so i understand no open diffs .

After almost sliding off the mountain on the gold mtn trail I would say stay away from the white stuff...No traction=no fun

Jeff,I,m going to have to pass on this run..Have you seen the video on the Thread posted (Last minute run??? Snow)? Well I,m in the blue 97 TJ in that video that slid a little sideways going down hill,Sooo I would not want to hold you all up on the trail..Plus even though snow is soft I don,t like steep ledges coming at me when I,m losing traction..LOL..have fun be safe..Thanks Geeb..

"You're going to need at least a rear locker, depending on how much snow we get between now and then, locked both ends would be better. Some decent ground clearance. Bear in mind the snowy sections of this trail drop off _severly_ downslope, and the trail was pretty rutted out before the snow hot.

Positive anchor points front and rear - no exceptions. Every rig has a CB - no exceptions.

Chains if you want - I haven't owned a set in almost 10 years. If we hit a spot where I think I need to chain up 37's - I'm turning around."

Yeah, what Max said! (which is what I said)

Rear only is fine. Bear in mind that if it's a rear Detroit, ARB or OX - it will be "fun" on ice.

I think what you originally said was back on page 1 of this thread. I guess I should have re-read everything.
Yes it is a Detroit and I've seen first hand how fun they can be on ice. We'll see.

                    Jason,
Glad to see you're coming. It's been a while since we ran a trail. Looking forward to it.

Chains are definately NOT a must. As I've said before - I don't even own a set. If we get to the point where I'm feeling the need to chain up 37's - we're turning around.

I'm real curious to see what this coming weekend's weather will bring to Baldy.

Weather man said it's suppose to rain the rest of this week. The coldest one will be Sunday. Should make for an interesting run.

The colder the better because my Jeep heater works just fine! I am hoping for snow instead of ice hiding under a two inch layer of snow.

Yea, that would suck. Luckily I was cleaning out the garage last week and found a set of 33" chains I had from my old truck. Forgot I had them.
