Gold Mountain in the SNOW!

Well, after slick roads up and seeing a lot of accidents I made it up for the run. The trip back was quick and dry!

First Hang-up. I got a little hung up here, and had to try a couple lines, only to find out I mis-used my deflator and was at 25psi in the rear still!

Great pictures, but running in snow does not look like fun. I don't like when my hands are cold so I'm not a snow run person.

Rene, that's what a heater is for! Now Nick and Barb are officially HARDCORE wheelers! Even though it wasn't JV style wheeling (what most people consider hardcore), they were out there with NO UPPER DOORS!!! That's hardcore!

At lunch, within about 30 seconds you could tell who's hot chocolate came from a Jeep with a heater AND full doors, and which 2 hot chocolates came from one with only a heater:

Sweet Pics . . . looks like a great time! Sure looks different from when I was up there a couple of months back. Were you able to just squeeze your spring back into place or did you actually run the remainder of the trail like that? Looks like it would shoot out of there next time you flexed.

I 'posed' up on another rock to droop that side, then a little help from a 5 foot hi-lift (thanks Nick) and a crowbar (thanks Paul) and some hammering (thanks left hand) it was back in! Maybe I do need those spring retainers?!?! Who knew?

Barb and I had SUCH a great time. Even if we are a little bit...insane. Barb was very apprehensive to go in light of all the recent fires and rain; and that it was forcast for 22 degrees.

We arrived to the Fawnskin Fire Station and linked up with a chilly Mat, who we were sure was wondering if anyone was going to show up. Barb's first comment was, "Honey, the fire trucks have chains on...this is not a good sign."

Once we got out onto the trail...the snow picked up a little bit.

Once in the forest it wasn't so bad, out of the wind. I didn't get any pictures of the first obstacle that Mat got slightly hung-up on. But this is the second little fun spot.

You'll notice in a LOT of my pictures, the rears are stuffed into the wheel well. Which is propaganda for Barb to let me buy a new driveshaft to complete the items needed for a lift!

One of the few pics we have of Paul on the trail. Which sucks because I really appreciate him taking us on a trail we've never been on before.

At about this point, Barb had enough of the cold weather and chose to be next to the heater. It was a heck of a lot of fun, and I'd like to finish the trail some day when the big dang tree get's moved. And when the temperature is above freezing.

Yeah, about 3 quarters of the way through the trail. I brought my laptop to work today to play around with my GPS coordinates so I'll be able to tell you exactly where that tree is!

With as big as it was, Paul was still trying to find a way to move it, or go around it!!! Nobody had a winch, (or traction for that matter). We were afraid that if we strapped it, and it started going down the hill, it might pull a Jeep down with it.
