  • Dishpan Springs (3N34) update

    From USFS:

The cement bridge that spans Deep Creek on 3N34 (T-6) received erosive flood damage.

As a result, no 4x4 or ATV traffic is allowed to cross the bridge until it is repaired.

No Way!! Erosion NOT caused by offroaders!!! Impossible.

Still a bummer, no less. Hopefully they can repair it soon.

Considering that it's in a closed area - shouldn't be an issue. But I thought I'd post anyway.

BTW - Don't hold back Sarah, tell me how you REALLY feel...........

Hadn't that area been closed by the fires? I was under the impression, from talking to a few residents up there, that they had planned to keep that areas closed for several years. I was severely disappointed when i heard that...

Yep, closed by the fire (part of Forest Order .05-1). I'll check and see what the latest info is on possible re-opening, but the order is through June 30, 2005.

That would be great if it opens this summer!

                Yerp.

Looking at some of the trails around lake Silverwood this last weekend (was in there with USFS), LOTS of water damage. I predict Silverwood Lake trail, Cleghorn, Pilot Rock will all be quite different.

2N33 (Pilot Rock Trail) is closed by 05-01. Hard to get there (last weekend anyway) as the CHP will turn you around right off the 138. 2N17X (Silverwood Lake Trail) is technically open.

The lake itself - I don't know - no one on it last Sun.

                    Look at:

Dishpan has been reopened for quiute some time, with the exception of the bridge at T6 (which we're hoping to have redone by the end of October)

So if the bridge is out can I still make it through the entire trail?

No, you can't access the trail from the Deep Creek side, and will have to turn around coming West before the bridge.

Is is worth doing up to the bridge, i.e., is any of the hard stuff accessable?
