I found this map while doing some research on Death Valley. I seen a similar map on one of Sarah’s links for wind turbines but this is for solar sites.

I'm trying to find info on what it means for the actual sites they put this on. I know it gives right of way to these projects, but does it close the area off completely? Will it have any effect on energy costs to local homeowners? I've seen these windmill sites off the 5 in central California and they do take up a big chunk of land.

I keep thinking about the radio towers and relays on Santiago Peak(Saddleback Mountain) in OC. Individually, they are private property but they each take up a really small footprint. You can still drive to, through and around them and it's pretty interesting. The impact is small. Are we talking about something similar or is this just going to be a fence blocking off hundreds of acres at a time?

Yep just got mine too. I noticed that the card stated written documents will become part of the public record. If other members who can't make it to the meeting want to write a short, civil, letter then pass it to someone who will be attending.

F-Bombs might get us labelled as "radicals" or "offensive"... so just pull the wiring from the heavy equipment if it ever shows up to start the construction k? You know how to do that stuff.

The City of Apple Valley is stated to be in a "Sphere of Influence". These 28 wind mills will NOT help The Town of Apple Valley in any marginally measurable way! But they will cost you your Tax dollars! The PRIVATE "Granite Wind LLC" will stand to make a lot of money. The power that the wind mills generate AT PEAK will be put on the Southern California grid to be distributed throughout Southern California and produce less than 1% of needed power, if that. Furthermore If the wind does not blow, the wind mills will NOT provide any power. Replacing your light bulbs OR reducing hot water use equals the amount in saved energy than the proposed project could produce. This is our public land that we would give away, This will create a precedence for all to know that we do not care about our access to our land! Remember this is only the beginning if we don't stand up now there are hundreds of other similar shelfed projects waiting for clearance at your and my expense!
We need to revisit Nuclear, Coal, Natural Gas and refine their already proven technology and cost effectiveness. More later-
