First useful post in this thread! Thanks Russ! (I'm not a pot calling the kettle black, I'm just pointing out why we all love Russ so much )
If we aren't supposed to eat animals, then why are they made out of meat?

I am a huge meat lover and my wife / kids are vegans and here is the best site vegweb.com. She makes stuff that tastes just like meat, but is fake stuff. Some of the stuff you would never know was not meat unless you saw it being made. other stuff tastes like cardboard. Thats just cool you are wanting to make some food for her. I always sample the items my wife makes some good some bad. Kurt maybe you will be eating some vegan food soon !!!

Sorry for the late response these are work computers so i don't get to log on often. The lasagna is very easy and tasty:

          INGREDIENTS
1/2 (12 ounce) package uncooked lasagna noodles
1 (12 ounce) package firm tofu, crumbled
          2 eggs
          1/4 teaspoon salt
          1/4 teaspoon black pepper
          1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
          2 tablespoons milk
          1 cup spaghetti sauce
          1 tablespoon dried parsley
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
          1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

          DIRECTIONS
          Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add lasagna and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
In a medium bowl combine tofu, eggs, salt, pepper, nutmeg, milk, spaghetti sauce, parsley and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Spread a layer in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Layer lasagna noodles with the sauce mixture, ending with sauce. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 35 minutes

The only thing that I never got is if Vegiatarians don't want to eat meat, why do they come up with all kinds of recipies to make the Tofu and vegitables taste, smell and look.... like meat?

So they don't seem so weird to you carnie folks! It's more socially accepted to eat something that resembles meat than to shun it all together!

Thats good except Vegans don't use milk or cheese products. You can use soy cheese and soy milk, that sounds good though.

so peta people would wear fake fur, and tree huggers would live in houses made of fake stone and politicians would lie....

That's the problem with living with absolutes, when you declair an absolute you better watch out, because sure enough it will come back and bite you in the @$$!

If these people wanted to be socially acceptable they should not be doing socially un-acceptable things, and then trying to mask the facts by dressing it up.

Just be who you are.... I think that's the whole "Jeep thing" if we are not socially acceptable, then that's why "they wouldn't understand!"

I feel that...but it's easier to teach somebody why we love jeeps than it is to teach somebody why we don't love meat...cause there are sooooo many reasons.

I'm not against meat at all, in fact I used to do a lot of hunting and fishing, it's just lately I'm expanding my horizons and trying something out, and so far i've enjoyed not eating meat you ninnies! PETA can go screw themselves for all I care...they're a JOKE, and they know it.
