  • 05 Wranglers...kinda cool

I'm sure some of you already know about the 05 Wranglers. But I thought I'd share some things anyway. As everyone probably guessed would happen, you can now get the Unlimited with the Rubicon package. Named Unlimited Rubicon, go figure. Now to the goodies, a new 6 speed trans is standard in the entire Wrangler line. First gear is now 4.46:1, which in the Rubicon models, including the Unlimited, gives them an improved crawl ratio of 73.3:1 instead of the 66.4. The top gear ratio is 0.84 which is supposed to give a little bit better mpg.

I just thought this stuff was kinda cool, so I shared it with all of you. Now to wait for the 05s to come out and snag one of them 6 speeds from a wrecked one

Yep, now all Jeep needs to do is produce the wranglers with a 4 - 5 inch lift, either one, with MT/Rs as standard equipment in 33s or 35s with the appropriate gearing for tire size. Along with D44s as the lowest grade axles. Options should consist of winches, bumpers, on board air and other trail goodies.

I think I need to get a job with the design team there....

New 6 speed sounds good. I'd like lower bottom end gearing without sacraficing my pinion size.....I wonder how much they will sell the tranny for, and how much I could get for the tranny I got now.....
olllllllo <--- If you can read that, roll me over!

Price is soon forgotton, quality is not.

The hemi is now available on the '05 Grand - hopefully it filters down the rest of the Jeep line.

I read that the hemi in the grand has a fuel saving thingy where it shuts down 4 of the 8 cylinders....interesting ehh

I asked the guy at the autoshow one time and he said that the 6 is a better motor fr the wrangler. Almost like the 8 is overkill.

Mmmm.... 6 speed. I've been trying to figure out if anyone has tried to put a fullsize truck 6 speed in a Jeep, but maybe now I'll just wait for junkyard sales of this one.

For all interested in the six speed, it is a NSG 370. That should help with finding prices at the dealership.
