Last year when it was closed it wasn't bad at all, most prefer the 38 when coming from SB & Riverside of the mountain. It is the longest way for us westerners. The 18 through Arrowhead is only 4-5 miles longer then the 330 but 50 miles of mountain driving by mostly locals who drive it fast too. The 18 via Bear Vally Road (Hesperia) is about 15 miles longer then the 330 with maybe 10-15 miles of mountain driving, steep and twisting but not much traffic. Maybe the hidden secret.

Mind you this is based on my travel from LAX area to Fawnskin, your mileage may very. (sound like a disclaimer)

              Happy travels, Tom

There certainly has been an increase in traffic on 38, with fatal results.

I drove that commute for two years. Can be scary. Prayers for the loved ones of the deceased.

Thats a pretty bad slide and its has to be rebuilt correctly from the bottom up with a buttress which will be real hard in that steep terrain.

the 330 has performed poorly since it was built. its always closed. maybe now the nice government folks who decide to blow our tax dollars will decide to fix it correctly. probably not.

Yep, give some gabions and we'll make short work of that little scratch in the hillside... I'm thinkin' we start filling the hole with H3s...

There has been a HUGE increase in traffic through Lucerne Valley. Looks like folks are figuring out they can get to Big Bear through LV. Good for business here, bad for us locals...
