oh absolutely. In fact, I feel super crappy when I'm on a turn or just raising me head from something and I see a jeeper wave and I can't wave back... I instantly think, "man I bet that guy thinks i'm a doucher."

      Wave to me!

I get mad if I don't get a wave. As far as who gets a wave...a JEEP is a JEEP. Come on, now!!

What has happened to the friendly wrangler wave here in California????????????
CJ- probably too scared to take his hands off the wheel for fear of heading in to oncoming traffic.
YJ- probably embarrassed because he has square head lights.
TJ- always get a wave from them.
JK- to busy taking on the phone while driving to the mall or soccer practice.

I wave at most Jeeps that I see, but USMC0369 is right, up here it is more a finger raise. Most Jeepers seem to wave back as well. I have gotten so ingrained in the habit that I find myself waving from my wife's car as well

JK- to busy taking on the phone while driving to the mall or soccer practice.
I don't talk on the phone, but you got me on the soccer practice. Taking paved roads adds 30 miles between my house and my son's soccor field so the JK is the go to soccer mobile.

BTW, a bad @$$ Cherokee that's lifted, has 33+ tires, tire carrier w/ jeep cans, extra lights etc. will for sure get a wave from me.

The way I see it. If the owner uses it to get groceries or to skirt around town or commute, they dont get a wave. And it's dead obvious who these people are. a beat up, fadded 91 yj with rusty springs and head light covers from steel horse and nerf bars from 1988... they dont get a wave.

Going to big bear or the desert, I wave at EVERY jeep.

You just described my YJ to a T!

I always wave as I grew up in Ohio and had a CJ in school. I do sometimes miss folks though here in North OC, just too much traffic! I need to move to Big Bear I think.

                        TO funny,.
I grew up in a cj, then went to a yj, then to my beloved TJ. I've owned the same TJ since Nov of 1996.

There's something to be said as to why I didnt get a JK..

Personally, a jeep is a TJ.. it's the perfect build.

Anyways, I was driving home on the 5 today and i saw a very nicely built TJ. plate was something like "CustomT6" something like that..... If you are the owner,,, nicely done.. I would of waved but I was in a honda civic.. Would of been taken as a bit homo if i had..

I have noticed the same thing about the finger lift or wave in the motorcycle community also. Now even though I am in a Toyota I still will make some kind of friendly gesture of acknowledgement to a nice Jeep. To me it is more about an understanding of leaving the pavement and enjoying the sport then brand or model.

It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand. (Well somebody had to say it!)
