Bad rollover last night. Ed and Annette Pounds
California Highway Patrol, Kern County Fire, and Forest Service personnel were dispatched shortly after 6:00 p.m., Friday evening, to the popular off-road trailhead that leads to Black Gulch, Davis Station and Keyesville.
Officials at the scene reported the jeep left the trail, rolled, ejecting both occupants, and came to rest approximately 200 feet down the mountainside. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
The victims have been identified as Benca Kadar, 59, of Irvine, Calif., and Thomas Alan Johnson, 56, of Corona, Calif.
