not only the above,but quit using social security as the governments private bank account and make wealfare a temp. help,not a life long entitlement.

it seems to be a vicious circle. they move jobs and to overseas and we suffer. what will happen when the middle class, who spend their money all of a sudden, doesn't have the cash to buy their products? then companies close and we all lose,Rich and Poor alike.

we are the only ones that follow the free trade rules,every other country tariff or tax our exports

I'm an Electrician as well! This is crazy! I told my daughter every election is a historic event, if she looks in her history book she will see all the names of the presidents... funny though, ethnic background info had never been something of note before.

there were a good meny out this way, some McCain also. it made for a few good debates while working. then there were some who made up their own minds and a} few who just do not vote at all but critize the winner.

it just chaps my ass when someone will chastize but refuses to vote. I don't cere(rep,dem,green or other).just vote. if the one you choose does not win. then critize all you want,just vote. it's your right to do so.

IBEW 477 here, and I did not vote for Obama! But even the Prison local here was pushing/supporting Obama.. it's crazy, the Dems allways cut the throat of the Fed Prisons... I told my buds to forget about Raises/cost of living increases, now that the Dems are in da haus!

I used to pull low voltage cable at a small company based in Apple Valley. The IBEW was trying to get my company unionized. They were telling us how much better off we'd be.

It would have hurt me at the time because I was making $25-30/hr in high school and college. If we had gone union I'd be an apprentice since I didn't have enough experience, which would drop me to something like $12-15/hr, not to mention the forced union dues!

Doesn't matter to me now because I have a salaried job in a completely different field. Glad to see so many happy IBEW workers here though. :thumbs_up

I'm not. IBEW 441 Orange County myself. Although, in the last 4 years I've probably only worked about 3 months in OC, the rest has been in LA.

I agree,..im 45 years old and this is the first time I ever voted,.. because of the way I felt about the choices (and lack of) as well as other issues. I would have voted for Ron Paul but it was clear that he did not have a chance so I picked the lesser of two evils for all the good it did....HANG ON FOLKS IT'S GONNA BE A HELL OF A RIDE NOW....M
