i think the drippy, 3rd grade appearance of the 01 on the side is the best thing about it. Says.. "demolition derby contestant" to me.. bet you dont have to worry about folks getting in your way on the road now.

How well will the unibody design hold up to that kind of chopping? I thought the XJ's didn't even like fender trimming beyond the fold-over weld point, causes too much structural weakening.
It looks really cool but might benefit from the structural integrity of a six-point roll cage.

If it isn't, it should be.
What happens when his beast has a hissy fit and rolls over in the middle of the trail? All that wonderful work would be gone and someone could get hurt. Please, put in a rollbar or cage before you attempt something like Doran.
I wasn't referencing a problem with a roll-over as that can usually be avoided with good spotting , but rather the issue of body flex.
In the XJ unibody design, the body IS the frame. Anything that weakens the body allows the "framerails" in the body to flex and eventually this leads to metal fatigue, commonly at the B-pillars leading to doors not quite closing or opening. What the heck, just weld some 2x2 along the bottom of the body and call it done. When it folds in half just cannibalize the parts and find another XJ to hack up.
