Hunting rifles are for hunting, I like a nice bolt action .270 as much as the next, and I love my .44 mag Deerslayer, but for OTHER reasons, my wife and I have matching mini 14's... it's easy to share mags that way and the kids know how to keep us in fresh mags...

then there are the kids 10-22's and G22's and our P99's for the last min bit of love...

but the mini 14's will not strike the fear and awe that the Blackrifles will....
:gun: my rifle is not illegal, it's just undocumented... :gun:

Army memories. I can field strip that sucker in mere seconds. If anything breaks, bends or clogs, I can usually MacGyver a fix with whatever is around me.

      Besides, I already have a .30-30

Its mostly to have a rifle that all the anti gun people and the state of California don't want you to have. Those "Evil Black Rifles". When Calfornia banned AR15 and AK style rifles they banned them by manufacturer and model. They wound up not listing all the rifles that were being made at the time. A guy got busted with an AK that was not on the list. It went to the Supreme Court and they ruled since it wasn't on the list it was not illegal. The Department of Justice then sent out a memo stating that they were banning all AR and AK style rifles no matter to make or model. That was challenged in court and they had to withdraw the memo. The court said the DOJ had until a certain time to ammend the law to add the guns. They did not meet the time goal so they have to wait so many years to change the law again. When people started finding out that they could legally get the rifles it started the "Off List Lower/OLL movement". Also known as the "Black Rifle Disease" in respect to the ARs.
I may not have all the info 100% accurate but it is pretty close. When my wife picked it up for the first time she said " Thats scary looking" I told her " yep, thats why I bought it"

We are going to have to get a shoot together one of these days. I am kinda busy right now and haven't even been able to go out and shoot it yet. I just started escrow on a new house last Monday!!!!!

I still prefer the H/K items, especially the the "cargo pocket" sized -5K model. The G-3 is also a favorite for "hard work".
