      Speak for yourself. I have a mag mount on the roof of my WJ and it works just fine

            Best place for it. Omi directional.... I bought one of those cheap dual band Baefeng radio's made in China about two months ago. Ok so it's not as nice as my Yaesu VX-6R or some of my other Yaesu gear but geez for the price it is impressive I will say it works very well, audio reports are good and yes with the chirp software you are good to go. As an overall I have no real complaints about the thing. Also a huge and dedicated yahoo group regarding it. 48 bucks to my door with the programming cable. For a starter dual band HT for someone or a back up HT it is great.
