I've heard that those are good (for the price, the specs look damn good). They recently received FCC approval (FCC ID:WVTWOUXUN04). I believe Scott is thinking about buying one of these soon too.

Make sure you get the "KG-UVD1P" if you want DTMF. Besides the letter P, that's the only noticeable difference between the KG-UVD1 and the KG-UVD1P. If you use eBay, be careful, it looks like a lot of auctions say KG-UVD1P in the title, then are actually for "original KG-UVD1 radio".

I find them on Craigslist under electronics randomly. I have bought them for as little as $100.00 with the antenna (yeasu ft-5100) and it works very well.

Reading comprehension fail. I missed the "mobile" part. Sorry!

Looked on e-ham and nothing at this point. I wish I would have just bought a mobile rig at first but oh well.... I do like my Yaesu VX-6R as it is a nice four band H/T but more power output is needed for some of the machines that are farther away. At least a Yaesu 7900 or a 8900 is what I would like. The programming software makes rigs like this a breeze to set up.

Agreed,... those that have used stuff usually want quite a bit for it VS. the new price. Almost had a yaesu 5200 on ebay but when it sold it went for 200 bucks...for a rig that was made in 1993

yeah thats typical of what i saw too. thats crazy to buy a 18 year old radio for just a little less then a brand new fancy radio. i ended up just buying new. the price hurts me but geez its almost a good investment cause radios are depreshiating slower then the dollar.
