anything with a MCE, P7, SST-50 led will give you good flood and 700-900 bulb lumins. i dont know what the best light is these days, but there's plenty to choose from on there. anything in that range will work well for scene lighting in pictures and video.

I think that I fall into that "mine explorers" catagory. I always carry 2 lights with me. My trusty 4 D cell Mag-Lite and a super brite Bass Pro Shop 6" light that uses 2 Lithium Photo batteries. I like the flood style light while general exploring, then for distance and or cack up the brite one.
