Lightroom is great for processing mass numbers of pictures. After a beach shoot or going to SDZ or SDWAP I can have upwards of 1,000 photos if I've done any action shots.
Awesome software good ability just a little shy if you really want to start cutting and morphing figures, colors and pixel by pixel corretions which I just don't have the patience for.

Is this common knowledge, or are you just that good?

Old thread - see if anyone's still tuned in.

My Canon XSi got lifted when I was in AZ last month, so I'll be in the market for a DSLR sometime soon. And yes, I'm still a cheap bastard

Sorry to hear about the theft, that is a drag.

I would stay canon, but I am a canon guy. Were you happy with the level of the XSi, or are you thinking of upgrading? I think the T3 is the new equivalent.

I personally like getting up to a full sensor size in the 5D, it is quite a bit more money but a really nice camera.

What do you like to shoot?

Agreed! I'd get a used 5D full frame over any Rebel or similar. It is a whole new world when you snap off a round or 10 with a professional camera.

This looks like a great candidate.

I use Lightroom and have come to love it. The majority of the pro's I work with are using Photo Mechanic for the workflow.

I have no experience with it, but they are all using it.

I guess I am in the market too. My Nikon D60 disappeared along with my iflip on my wife's San Francisco trip. The really lame thing is I was all set up with some nice Canon lenses before I switched to digital several years ago. My wife bought me the Nikon and I sold off all my nice Cannon lenses. I think I am back to canon for my next DSLR. I with I would have hung on to those lenses.

Hey Erik, how is everything in Lakewood these days?

That photo mechanic looks interesting. If you need to add a lot of meta data it looks like a good way to go. I am still using Capture One, it is out of vogue but it works for what I am usually doing. But I don't usually deal with a large volume of shots for the type of work I do, and everything goes through photoshop so I do most of my work there.

The 5d Mark III is rumored to be coming out in by fall 2011, if you want to play the waiting game (usually an easy game to lose) you might see a little price drop in the used 5d Mark II market.

OU812, that is why I never sell a camera equipment...unless I NEED jeep parts

I am currently using the 5DII as well as the 1DIV on occasion. They are both great cameras. In all honesty, I think the 5DII takes better photos. I'm thinking both of these are out of line for all but the serious hobbyist, and the lunatic.

The older 5D is a great camera for the money right now. I'd take that over anything in the Rebel lineup, and likely right up to the 7D.

That was a great deal. Looked like new. $700 bucks and was a back-up camera for a wedding photographer.

I'll keep an eye out and post links if it will help.
