well, i did the u bolt flip. rather than buying the dodge junk yard parts, and cutting them up to suit my needs, i made my own stuff...
i have the ford 8.8 rear end which has the rather large diameter axle tube. i bought a pece of pipe with the same size inside diameter as the axle tubes outside diameter, and cut a couple of pieces, and welded them to my existing u bolt pad.
i also custom made some skids for the bottoms of the u bolts, so they would not hang me up.
well, here it is
i'll try it out and let you know how it all works out!
