  • Shock mounting with body lift

:wrench: So, if I have a 4" lift and a 1" body lift, shouldn't I buy shocks for a 5" lift, since the top of the shock bolts to the tub?

Yes, in theory. Another way to check is to measure your max and min suspension height and compare with the shock you are considering. If it doesn't quite work out you may need to adjust the bump stops or move the mounting brackets.

and then hope you can find someone who knows how to read the specs out of the back of the catalog to find appropriate part numbers from those lengths (in tucson, that is harder than it sounds).
olllllllo <--- If you can read that, roll me over!

Price is soon forgotton, quality is not.

Shocks don't mount to the tub, they mount to the frame crossmember.

Good point. If you had a 4" body lift the shock length would be unchanged.
