I do believe we've fixed it! (thanks to TJSUPE for your help!)

We removed the TC skid plate, checked the tranny mounts (all were tight), reattached the TC skid plate, tightened the he!! out of it, tightened shock mounts, control arm mounts, etc, and ONE of those things seemed to be the problem. We think it was the TC skid plate (aka 'cross member!) that just needed to be REALLY leaned on.

Swaybar Links are JKS Quicker Disconnects, and they appear to be fine...

Control arms and control arm bushings all appear to be tight and in sood shape...
No unusual play in the U-Joints...
Definately not a rock on the skid plate...wrong kind of "clunk"!
*Still need to look at the rear track bar...
JKS Quicker Discos is the key word, I have the same brand discos, EXACT same problem matter fact I just posted it today.

Actually, I haven't had the sound since I really leaned on the bolts for the TC skid plate...been a few weeks now.

well, steelman, i guess the old "not sure what's wrong so i'll just disassemble everything and put it all back together again" technique works just fine.

problem is that now you don't actually know for certain what it is, so next time you'll still be guessing...
          03 TJ. It'll go 65mph...can't complain.

Actaully had it reoccur after my last wheelin' trip a few weeks ago. Tightened the TC skid plate bolts again, and problem solved. I gotta get off my butt and go get some locktite already...
