  • 4x4 light concern

whenever I engage my 4 hi or even 4 low, there dashlight does not come on. the 4 wheel drive appears to be working still, but I was wondering why the dashlights no longer work. mind you I installed a two inch spacer lift a month ago. any ideas? I'd appreciate it.

if the 4wd works, I wouldnt worry about it. Most likely the bulb burnt out or some wires came unplugged.

Or maybe a bad switch.. or out of adjustment.

I'm not being stupid, but check your fuses. I grounded my trailer lights once and my 4x4 lights wouldnt work. Check the fuse box under your hood and also the one in your glove box.

Do they come back on when you switch back to 2 hi?

the 4x4 indicator light switch/sensor is on the front of the 231 housing next to the front output shaft. make sure it is still plugged in.

if it is, it could be a bad bulb or a worn out sensor. I'd bet the sensor is bad. you can get them from quadratec, just check the back of the catalog for a part number.
