If you do not do both axles, you will not be able to put it in 4x4.
Well you can until one of your axles rip out from under you.

I also drive a Rubi. Just got my 33s on and I can't tell a difference from the stock tires, except I can't putt around at 20 - 25 mph as well in 5th.

if you do alot of hard core wheelin then its nice to have lower gears the ride is much nicer. and if your runnin taller tire it nicer. but all in all it the fact of do you like the way it wheels or drives. lower geras such a little more gas. to find out what you have rotate the tires and count how many time the driveshaft turn like you said three and a little more is 3.73 thats what i have 4.10's are 4 turns on the drive line and then some. i hope i could help have a good one rock on all.

ok i need to clear something up with this turning the driveshaft and watching the tires....Im 99.99% sure i have 3.07 gears, 87 4.0L 5spd. So the Drive shaft should turn pretty much 3 times for the rear tires to spin once correct? when i spun it 3 half turns my wheels spun once....im pretty sure thats what happened....can someone explain this to me? so if i spun the drive shaft 3 complete 360* rotations the wheels spun twice....i must be missing some major thing here. I did this a while ago so i might be a bit off, ill try to check tomorrow...

is that for just front and rear gears, or is that per axle with locker?

I'd shop around, regardless that price seems high. I'm going to re-gear soon, but i'm doing the work myself with the help of some friends who have done it before.
