  • Doors off

OK. This may sound like a silly question. I have an '04 Rubicon with roll up windows. I asked the dealer and they didn't know how. How do I take the doors off and keep the interior light from staying on? Any help would be appreciated.

By the way. Whoever let me change mt user ID, Thanx!!!!!

In my 98 there's a fuse, I just pulled it out and it was good to go.

yup, check the fuse box. or you can tear apart the buttons that activate the light at the doorplate like i did, but the fuse is much easier

I bet if you waved a 20 at them they would suddenly know how to do it.

There's little switches in the doorwells you can tape over, or you can pull fuses or you can get this new spring/clamp gizmo (carried by quadratec) that keeps the switch depressed as if the doors were on and closed. This last method is best for those of us who have anti-theft systems wired to those switches. All of these methods work and tehey're all inexpensive

I checked the owners manual and there was nothing under doors. I will check the rest of it to see if there was something I missed.

I thank you all for your help!!!!!

I know.....I just went through this myself! No help from the manual. Just take out that fuse & the lights stay on ten seconds after you turn off the jeep. Otherwise you gotta manually switch it on at the the wheel.

kinda silly it seems, they sure did make it easy but i guess they just expect everyone to figure it out on their own.

It's in there....at least it was in the '03 manuals. That is where I figured out which fuse it was.
