Why would they not mount them on the jeep? That seems very odd.

Even if I buy the road hazard I don't want to be @ WM every week getting a tire replaced. Plus they wont mount them on the Jeep. I have to bring the wheels in and they will mount them.
If your talking about the bfg all terrain having flimsy sidewall. I really dont think so. 3 ply should be plenty for you especially if you hardly go off road. I am looking at 4 ply sidewall bfg krawlers and they are ~$312 a tire not mounted. I would never buy or ever needed a road hazzard. I dont see why they wont mount them either.

No I was talking about the Goodyear tire that WM sells. WM wll not mount a tire on a vehicle if it's larger than stock. My stock tires were 30's and these are 31's.

They will mount them on the loose rims if I bring the rims in but they will not put them on the Jeep.

I think jeep rubicons came with bigger tires than stock tj's. Tell em its a rubi. Go to Americas tire Co. They will price match less hassle and they will even trial fit a tire on your jeep if your not sure it will fit. I been going there for over 20 years always good service and never had problems getting a rebalance.

I have been pricing tires and my last set came from Americas Tire. I got sticker shock this time. My last set were $108ea and that same exact tire is now $139.

            Thats a $120 difference for 4 tires!

I hope that I get back on full time at work then I can afford them. Right now I can't.

I used the snot out of my road hazzard warranty at Americas tire on my last set.

              Just My :2:

I bought a set of Goodyear tires from the AV Walmart for my lil comuter KIA and I have since replaced 3 out of the 4 so far for side wall problems. I will never buy another set of tires from Walmart again. Just this last time, I went in because the same thing happend that happend the last 2 times (side wall was splitting from the inside out) and they tried to argue with me that it was something that I did. They were only going to give me a discounted price on a new one until I started complaing and asking for a manager. It's obvious to me that those tires are in some way defective and after I argued it enough they finally gave in! ....And as luck would have it, they didn't sell those tires anymore (Imagine that!) So, they moved me into a "Better Tire!" I guess we'll see about that!

Don't skimp on a tire just because the price looks good. In these harsh Desert conditions a 3 ply side wall will save your butt out on the trail! Sharp rocks, sticks and the ever present Cacti will eat tires for lunch around here!

For the Jeep, I was running Pro Comp Exterrains but at almost $200 a tire I decided to give up on those! I found a set of 33x12.5 Cooper Discoverer SST tires at Town & Country tire in AV. They have a very aggressive tread pattern and have a 3 ply sidewall. I think they run around $140 or so a tire. I have never had a problem with them yet and the guys at T&C will take good care of you! Cooper also makes a cheeper version of the same tire called "Hercules" and they also have a 3 ply sidewall and aggressive tread pattern as well. I think they run around $130 or so. I know Mitch (Great88) and Scott (Dezertdog) and a few others that run them and they love'em!

In my opinion your better off spending a little more and going with a better tire than trying to save a buck!

.....and your right, I wouldn't want to be at Walmart every week arguing with them about crappy tires!

              Just my thoughts!

              Scott

The WM tires are Made in USA!

I talked to the manager of the America's tire in Hesperia about the BFG's. He will not price match the mail order price from other places because once you add up the shipping the mail order tire is more.

He said he could work with me on matching the WM price on balancing.

So I'm still looking @ $764 for 4 tires Possibly $20 less if he goes with WM balance price but still too much IMO for 4 tires.

that is overly much for tires in that size, maybe look for a set of slightly used tires or keep shopping. the set of 4, 35"bfg's cost me 760 plus 100 for the tire warranty on sale last year. keep shopping you will find some.

Ok thats a a bunch of BS and I know for a fact he is lying to you. They will and have price matched for me many times the onlinetires.com online adds. It is an online co that has a wherhouse pretty close (cerritos) so you can PICK THE TIRES UP so there is NO SHIPPING!. Go to another Americas Tire or ask for the district managers # or corporate # since they wont price match. Even with shipping (which I wouldnt pay because I would of have picked the tires up) the onlinetires.com was way cheaper then americas tire prices by far. $764 for 31" 10.50 15 is a rip off plain and simple.
                    http://www.onlinetires.com/products/...++n%252Fa.html
$130 X 4+tax = ~$562+ ($15x4 for mounting & lifetime balance)=~$622. If americas tire has any special bfg rebates or promotions it can possibly be cheaper like it was in my case. 4 BFG MT KM2'S 35x12.50-15 cost me ~$600 mounted with lifetime balance after the price match,$50 credit card rebate and $75 bfg rebate.

You need to go to the web site (Discount Tires) And click price match. It will tell you the stores that will price match, not all do.

I cant seem to find the "Price match" button on their site. I must be blind?

I've had issues with this particular store in the past and I stopped going there because of it. I may go to the Victorville store and see what they have to say.
