  • Going to wiring the jeep for flat tow. Question?

I am going to put the 7pin adapter in the front. Not 100% where. Either the front lower grill or the side of the hood.

Question? Is there a place to access the wires in the front for the tail, turn, and brake lights? Some place under the hood I can "tap into"?

    Thanks

I ran my wires all the way to the tails lights inside the frame.

      Thanks Curtis,

There is a hole in the begining and the end of the frame?

This is my plan. The wires that are in the drivers kick panel are tail light wiring. You can tap into them but must use diodes. Its a simple setup. Here is the writeup.

That's the way in the end I ran it

Here is a pic on the outside adapter for "plug-in play".

This is what I did - Mounted the plug right to the bottom of the bumper.

              Completed.

The wire diagram shown didn't match my 1993 Wrangler. I purchased a test light at HF for $3 and figured it out. If anyone needs help, just post. I can get you the color wire(s) needed.

Did you used diodes or just tap into the wires?

Diodes from RV place. I did both brake lights. Not the tail nor the reverse light (I know, I hooked it up anyways..haha). I bought the 5 wire (pre-wire) from home depot for $.32 a foot. Few tip tires and plastic conduit for the engine bay and she is done. I tested it with a hot wire from battery up front to assure it works since I don't have the coil wire (suburban to jeep) yet (dang online stores).

                  Any questions, just ask!
