          Hi Scott,

Not sure on a newer Jeep but it sounds like a fuse had gone bad for your situation. Anyways on my YJ all I did was bridge a wire from the two end wires of the connector that plugs into the rheostat part. I wish I would have taken pics at 3am this morning when completed but didn’t want to disassemble the dash again. Hope this helps.

An XJ will always cost you less then any girl ever will, and you will always know when the spark is gone.

Try a salvage yard for the dimmer switch, I find a lot of useful back up parts for Jeeps when I go there more for the YJ than the TJ. I was there yesterday and saw two that had dash boards fully in tact . A lot of people traded them in on the Cash for clunkers deal... More Cherokees than anything.

Sometimes it's the only affordable parts house.

I will keep an eye out. I will be out this weekend. Also I have a center guage cluster(that didn't fix my problem) if anyone is in need. It is out of a 92 yj.
