I am going to buy some new 35x12.50-15 BFG mudders KM2's. I am trying to decide on aluminum 10" wheels or 8"wheels . What do you guys think I should get in wheel width and you reason why. I know some of the pros and cons but I want guys that have experience to give me there input. I dont plan on running bead locks at least right no unless I can find some at a reasonable price.

well i would think it all comes down to what tire width you would want to run. at 12.5 theres around 4.5inches of excess rubber which is fine. but if you want to ever go anything wider, which i cant amagine you would then i would go with the 10's. im running 35x14.50 on a 10 inch width and im more then happy with it.
no real information here, just my opinion.:devil: Giffer

8 inch wheels. We run our 35" MT/R's on 8 inch M/T wheels. 10 is too wide.

I run 33" tires on a 8" wheel and never had a bead come off and it seems to protect the wheels a little better. I had a buddy with a sami with 10" wheel and 32" tires and the tire poped off the bead really easy and we couldnt get it to go back on even with a strap. I was thinking the 35's with the taller side wall wouldnt be a problem though. I kinda of wanted the extra width to help with side to side stability but dont want it if I am going create problems popping the beads. Anybody with problems with bead popping off with 10" wheels and 35" tires with low pressure of ~10-12 psi.

I blew beads all the time on my 10" wheels. 8" wheels are much better at holding the bead.'96 XJ, HP D30 front, XJ D44 rear, Lockright/E-Locker, 4.56's, Cobra CB, 33" Pro Comp xTreme MT's, SYE, Smittybilt XRC10 winch with Synth Rope, mutt lift.

There you have it...pros and cons. When I was in your shoes and deciding...there was always one more pro out there. So I went with 8" with my 35's;..no issues what so ever at ten psi;
Close friends of mine, on the other hand does not regret with their 10" wheel at 10 psi. Pretty much will be personal preference. Hth.

Beau, Steve's krawlers burb air below 15 psi but they are on 8" rims. One of the things that keep beads from getting unseated is how big the bumps on the inside of the rim are where the bead pops over when you seat the tire some rims are better in that respect than others. That make sense to you?
