    Holy Crap.

This thread just stepped into a Geek Zone that I must only sit on the bench and admire.

        Wait a second...you said lengthwise...that would make it 13 and 6.5 deg...

Did I just quote myself, wow!

I don't know exactly where the pick up extends to on the RCI tank so I didn't go through all of the calculations, but I agree it's a problem for that shape of tank in an off road vehicle.

My situation is a little different in that I run either a mechanical fuel pump or an exterior electric pump rather than a pump in the tank. I was just admiring your work and thinking out loud about my own Jeep. The sump outlet (gravity fed from a low point in the bottom) I was referring to was for my Jeep not yours. Your tank looks killer!:thumbs_up

            Thanks.

A sump and a collector are similar solutions. From memory my stock YJ tank had an internal sump about 4 x 4 x 1" deep.

As it happens I tried an external electric pump at first. It was gravity fed (siphon) and positioned below the bottom of the tank. It was a total PITA and I never managed to make it work well. I dumped the whole mess and went back to an internal pump.
