I installed a new winch today, and ran into a problem with my quick and dirty bumper I built a week or two ago. The fairlead stuck out about 5.5" beyond the bumper.....I didn't figure that it was a good idea to have the fairlead be the forward most part of the jeep.....so, I added a bit of steel to the bumper to help protect it.
I'm not completely convinced I like it, but considering how much time I have invested in it (between the original build and the first round of changes), I think it is staying. I still need to add some sort of radiator/winch protection (incase I end up testing the roll cage), and a few other things, then go back and do all the finish items (clean up the edges and a couple of welds).
Anyway, what do you guys/gals think? Should I keep what I have already and add the previously mentioned items to it, or start over?
