I cant answer for Ryan but I can tell you how mine are. There are two designs for electric brake controllers. One type is pretty much fixed (On/Off) and you calibrate the amount you want. Mine has a sensor where after you set it initially, it measures G-Force and adds breaking based on how hard you stop. I can also change the percentage of added braking.

Looking good Ryan. I'm going to be building a new frame and body for mine soon. I'm going to use your idea for the spare and probably use a thinner tire for it also. Did you figure out your body design yet? I will be making mine about 8" wider(4x6 now.)I talked to the people at Patton Steel and they can bend my sides for me. Let me know if you have someone better if your not going to use flat sides.

Today I mounted the jack for the tongue end of the trailer. I purchased a removable one so I can really get a good jackknife of the trailer for backing up. I welded a mount under the trailer to stow it while not in use. Tomorrow I tackle measuring and mounting the Max Coupler by kibly.

Over the last few weeks I have chipped away at small tasks on the trailer

I had to make an extension for the tongue of the trailer to give more room to open the spare tire swing arm. Since the trailer sits high, the swing arm is gonna catch on the trailer. Eventually I will put a smaller 31" tire on it to help lower the trailer some

I hooked the trailer up to the Jeep and took it for a spin. It pulled straight had handled good around the neighborhood streets.

I stripped everything from it and gave a good metal etching primer coat

The frame is gonna get painted a Satin Black by rustoleum

Well I had to modify the chassis. I decided to go back to a spring under since the trailer was sitting way too high after placing the tub on it. Deaver springs helped find me a pair that gave the springs a 3" higher lift (more arc) so I could do the spring under. I also was forced to move the spare tire forward as the axle would hit the spare when mounted over the axle. After getting the chassis re welded I move on to the chassis. Here are picture of the tub build

You've done a really beautiful job on the trailer build. Can't wait to see the finished result as I am sure you are too.
I am a little worried about the hangers welded on the frame. Personally I would add a couple of fish plates to reinforce them. I expect they will see a lot of stress in trail situations.

                    Very inspiring otherwise.

Looks good Ryan. Did you make the sheet metal brake we talked about?

Well I got the trailer tub back from powder coating and it came out great. I assembled it all and did a couple of test runs around the neighborhood and it brakes nice and pulls straight.

I have two more items to complete. First is to cover the tongue area with aluminum diamond plate...about $150 for sheet (yikes). Second to Line X the tub.

Both are a little out of my budget now so I am gonna hold off for a month or so.

How big a peice of diamond do you need for the tongue? I have several large peices here at Ahole Fab. Call me.
