Here we go again... I have decided to make some more changes to the ol' YJ.
I am swapping the body to one that is a bit straighter and see if I'm able to do a bit better at the driving over the rocks thing and keep from smashing in all of the painted surfaces.
There are a few other changes that will be taking place as well. I'll be going with the GenRight hi=-line fenders, and swapping in a bunch of aluminum to replace the steel skids and other armor.
Here are a few pictures of the current state of my jeep.
The fuel tank will be moving inside of the jeep to a more centered location. I plan to build in an aluminum box where the gas tank was, and have it accessible from the inside of the bed of the jeep through the floor for some of those not so frequently used spare parts.
A pair of suspension seats, and harnesses will be in the mix as well as a new Roll Cage designed around my needs.
I'll post up some more pics as the changes take place.
Removing all of this steel and other accumulative heavy crap from the jeep has made the suspension rise up almost 5". I'm sure it will go back down a bit, but I expect a substantial weight loss in thiis endeavor.
